GBHS Marching Band 2008: Pandora's Box
This year's marching show is entitled "Pandora's Box". Consisting of Shostakovitch's Symphony #10, Ascension, and Medea's Dance of Vengeance, the show will be about 7 minutes long. As a lower-end Group II in the TOB Chapter IX circuit, we intend to keep the upwards spiral of scores that started last year.
Graphics
I was chosen to create some logos for this year's show. Whether they'll be used or not is another story, but here are some designs I've created so far with the open source Blender 3D software. Click on the thumbnail for a larger view. (unfortunately, knowing how to use a graphics program does not make you a graphics designer...)
A wallpaper created in celebration of our first competition. It is my current one, and will be for a long time. More to come? 1208x1024 (smaller screen resolutions can use it too). Here is a screenshot of my current Linux desktop, with a nice widget randomly displaying pictures from the season. |

This is the designs for the show shirt. For two colors, it looks good (I think). The "evil" coming out of the box wasn't possible (the particles needed transparency, and transparency needs more than one color). Nonetheless, it's pretty cool. The shown one is my favorite in this series. Click the image to see more designs. |

This is a minor update of the red and black one below (my favorite). Some changed lighting and fonts. Actually, you really can't tell the difference. Possible button design. |

Nothing to do with GB, but I thought it looked cool. (A possible alternate button design?) |

This is the one I designed for black-and-white publications. Probably the most boring out of all of them (but the cheapest to print as well...) |

Same as before, but with some color. For places where color is okay. |

My absolute favorite. Printing this would be terrible with all the black, but it looks so amazing in my opinion. I don't think Pandora's real box could have gotten better than this. Note the hope rising up above the evil flowing out, only to be slammed back in shortly. |
